The new Nintendo DSi console was released on Friday 3rd April 2009. This is an upgraded version of the popular Nintendo DS Lite console. These consoles remain popular with parents, keeping children occupied occupied for hours on end. However the compact nature of the cartridges and the constant swapping of games can lead to the loss of expensive game cartridges. That is big loss and expense to replace given that the games cost £25 on average.

Whilst the Nintendo DSi is backwards compatible with the Nintendo DS, it does mean that the games cartridges are the same size with the same risk of kids losing the games cartridges.
